Hello Summer!

We hope your summer has gotten off to a great start.  For us, summer is normally a time to relax and kick our feet up but this summer finds us having a consistent schedule of events to attend.

We have an exclusive event coming up in September that we had to do a photo shoot for last Friday in Brooklyn- talk about fun! We can’t wait to see the photos from it and share them with you all.  Also, last Wednesday June 24, 2015, we did our first (home based) workshop on making lip balm.  We had a great time, learned a lot and are getting some fantastic and helpful feedback! We are eager to do more.  A few of the items we’d like to teach you how to make include lip balm, powder, a basic lotion, toothpaste and tooth powders and more. We are happy to travel to the NY, NJ, PA and the DC metropolitan area to do workshops. We are only doing one to two workshops each month so be sure to book with us asap in order to get the date you’d prefer.

We are currently down to 3 different bars of soap; we have cedar/cypress/juniper- and only one bar of that one. Then we have our rainforest blend and lavender/patchouli bars.  On July 16th, more eucalyptus/frankincense and shea butter/tea tree will be ready.

That’s it for now, we hope you’re staying cool this summer!

Big News!!

(((Sigh))) It’s so easy to get caught up in life, and truthfully, we are really good at doing just that, but we haven’t forgotten about you.  We hope this blog post finds you and yours doing well with your best days just ahead of you.  If not, please, drop us a line, we are more than happy to pray for you and your family.

We’ve been moving right along.  We’ve done several vending shows (with more to come), and we have a new bar of soap that just came off the curing racks today.  It’s called Rainforest and it smells wonderful!!  I (Patrice) just might have a new favorite scent.  I actually hate fragrances, which is part of the reason we don’t use them in our products. This bar has an essential oil blend that includes violet, cedar leaf, citronella, eucalyptus, galbanum, lemon and pathchouli.

On to our news!  We are preparing to have our products sold in a physical store, here in New Jersey.  We’ll give you more information about that on a later date.

We are also preparing to do home shows and workshops.  Here’s how things will work: for both, home shows and workshops, you, as the host will have an opportunity to earn free and 1/2 priced products based on the sales from your event.

For home shows, we come in and give a brief, fun and educational talk about our products vs commercial products found in stores, with samples for your guests to try during the event. You will also get to choose an exclusive product for your event, from a list of items we make but don’t sell. This product will be your first free gift.

For workshops, you get to choose an item (we will provide a list) and we will teach you and your guests how to make your own.  Workshops will include a nominal fee as guests will take home the product made.  Because we love surprises, there are a few other added benefits and fun additions we will include in our shows and workshops but we don’t want to spill the beans just yet! You’ll have to book with us to find out. We’d love to come out and have some fun with you!  For now, we are doing shows in both the New Jersey and Washington, DC metropolitan areas.  We are currently booking only one to two shows/workshops each month, so contact us at admin@edenspureherbals.com to settle on a date!

We’re Still Here!

We know, we know, it’s been a long time since you’ve heard from us.  We’ve been keeping busy.  Lots of changes, life transitions, new callings, various events and more.  We just wanted to stop in the midst of it all to let you know we’re still here and we’re still going strong!  In fact, we are making plans for several exciting events.  Our next upcoming event is a Prophetic Retreat in Basking Ridge NJ on April 10th and 11th.  We’re going to be selling our products, ministering with the prophetic team and Patrice will be leading worship on Friday night! Busy, busy, busy, and so much fun!

One of our latest cool happenings is that a baby developed a rash from every kind of lotion her mom used on her skin. Long story short, ours cleared it right up!  We love how our products promote healing.  It’s not just lotion, lip balm, etc, just for the sake of being lotion, lip balm, etc.  Our products really work!  We are constantly getting responses and stories like this.  We never tire of them and love being able to help others!

In case there’s something you need, here’s 15% off until March 26th- IBYWTOWQCYZZ

If you have Verizon as your internet provider, we are again having issues with Verizon customers accessing our website, so if that’s you, you can access our store directly by going here.

Holy Discounts!! (Batman)

First, I (Patrice) have to say, the Batman reference in the title was sheer compulsion, nothing more.  I don’t like Batman at all. The way he speaks grates on my nerves. I don’t understand the pseudo sexy, wispy, whisper thing he tends to love doing.  He sounds stupid. The issue is, when the lyrics of a song, a slogan, or title fit a situation, I feel compelled to insert it.

I (Jaiela) like Batman,  especially the older version with the ((WHAM!)) ((POW!))’s, underwear on the outside, and Batman’s drawn on eyebrows.

Those were the good ol’ days. 🙂 Yes, the good old days when Jaiela, and I weren’t even born, lol!  Jaiela loves old movies and shows.  It’s really cool to see how excited she gets over the classics.

Know what else grates on my nerbs (as my 7 year old says, lol)? Holiday events, “restaurants”, and potluck dinners where the people preparing the food refuse to actually cook the food.  It’s all prepackaged stuff with God knows what in the ingredients.  I’m always genuinely shocked that some people don’t/won’t cook.  Now, I know this is all coming from a homeschool mom but wait, no, I’m a homeschool mom!! Of four!!  I get *no* time off, I do speaking events, singing events (coloratura soprano here, woot woot!), homeschool activities, church activities, doula work, placenta encapsulation (yeah, I know…) and my oldest and I run this really neat herbal business, making all the products ourselves so I know what busy is, and, we cook our food.

I think it’s sad when a homecooked meal becomes a commodity and the norm is the prepackaged junk that fills the inner aisles of supermarkets. (Shop the perimeter folks!) Don’t you deserve more than the occasional homecooked meal?  I think you do. We’ve started back up on a bit of bread eating which reminds me that I need to get going on my sourdough starter again because I let it go. 😦  There’s nothing like fresh, homemade sourdough bread.  I could kick myself for letting my starter die. (((sigh))) I won’t though, because I really like myself.

Anyway, on to the discounts!  With Thanksgiving, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday all days away, we thought we’d offer greater discounts on the latter two days.  So, on Small Business Saturday, November 29, 2014 use the code TKAGJ5GADJOE and get 30% off your order.  On Cyber Monday, December 1, 2014, use the code 25QSNX28HJ5X  and get free shipping on all orders.

That’s it for now!  Happy Thanksgiving!! (EAT REAL FOOD)

Weekly Check-In

We hope this blog post finds you all cozy and snug where ever you are today.  As we type this, it’s drizzling outside, there’s a chill in the air.  It’s the kind of weather that’s nice when you don’t have to go out. Great for hot tea, long baths and napping. Actually, that sounds like a good plan for the rest of the day.  We made up a few exclusive items and sold them at the craft fair at Fabricland- a cold and flu relief tea blend, and a winter bath salts blend.  We’ll definitely make some of the bath salts up for ourselves and use them, they smell great and have lots of healthy, detoxifying ingredients in them.

Speaking of the craft fair, it went pretty well.  We’re seeing a trend…  Even when we do vending events where the turn out is lower than expected, we still do quite well with the crowd that attends.  That’s a blessing and great confirmation for us.  Here’s a not so great picture of Jaiela at our table.  We got too busy to get a really good shot- which is a good “problem” to have if you ask us. 🙂

Our Podcast with GNOWFGLINS

We are so thrilled! Orders are coming in, we’re pumping them right out, and, we have a big event coming up this weekend at the Fabricland in North Plainfield.  Come visit us if you’re in town!

What’s more, we had a ball doing our first podcast, and, it’s out now!  So, this week, we just wanted to share the podcast we did with Wardeh of GNOWFGLINS with you.  Click here to listen to the podcast and enter the giveaway!
EPH on GNOWFGLINS

We’re open now… What’s Next?

Now that our opening is behind us, what’s next?  Well, besides the ever changing nature of the bars of soap on our curing racks, we actually have other plans and events in the works and we’re excited!  First, we have to say a huge thank you, thank you, thank you, to all our pre- launch customers. Your support means the world to us.  We can’t thank you enough for helping us work through the kinks, but, we will do what we can, so look out for an email from us in a few weeks that will include a special gift for being among our first customers.  (This is for everyone who shopped with us before October 28th, 2014)

We recently had a ball with Wardeh of Traditional Cooking School, also lovingly known as GNOWFGLINS (God’s natural, organic whole foods, grown locally, in season).  That podcast will air this week on November 7, 2014, so look out for that and definitely check out GNOWFGLINS. We’ve been members for the past few years, and seriously, the food we make would make somebody hurt themselves, and, the best part about that is that it’s not just good for you, it’s great for you! There’s not too much we don’t know how to make ourselves around here. We don’t just make all of skincare, haircare products and laundry powder… I’m talking everything down to crackers, mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, peanut butter, chicken stock, to name a few.  Quick, easy stuff too, for those who think they could never make the time to do these things. Plus, think about it, how much is your health worth to you?  One of my midwives likes to say, something along the lines of, “You can choose to pay now (for good whole foods), or pay later (for all that comes with declining health).” My father in law used to say that I live and eat as if I want to live forever.  That’s not true.  It would tear my heart to see everyone around me go.  I just want to live a quality life while I’m here.  I don’t want to be sick when I know I don’t have to be sick.  The moral of the story is, eat real food, leave the junk alone. There’s no such thing as junk food, it’s either food or it’s junk. 🙂

Another exciting event we’re looking forward to is coming up on the 15th of November at the Fabricland in North Plainfield, (NJ). It’s the 2nd annual Fabricland Craft Fair. We got a message from a friend saying that they were in need of a vendor who made soap and, what do you know? We make soap! So we called the store.  They guy was thrilled that we called and said that a woman had just asked him if they had a soap making vendor yet and then the phone rang with us on the other end. 🙂  We’re excited to go and meet people, get our brand out there and show off our new logo and product labels.  For those who have made purchases with us, how do you like our logo and labels?

Then, on December 6, 2014, we will participate in a holiday bazaar at a local church.  So, there are lots of extra soap making going on in preparation for these events as well as our online sales on Ebay, Etsy, and our website.

That’s not all, we have more (bigger) news in the coming weeks but that’s all we’re sharing for now.  In the meantime, please consider helping us out by spreading the word about Eden’s Pure Herbals.  When someone you refer to us enters your name and email in the comment section during the ordering process, you can earn money towards free products for yourself.

We’ll leave you with our newest product review that was entered on our Facebook page just yesterday.

“I am so pleasantly surprised at how amazingly well the healing salve actually heals. I tripped up a curb Tuesday (yup, I really did) and skinned my knee pretty bad. I got home, cleaned it, put Neosporin on it and a big bandage. I have been changing the bandage with Neosporin 2 times a day with no improvement, none! It was still so raw. This morning, I remembered reading that your salve was a replacement for Neosporin and I used it instead with my big bandage. I just took it off to get in the shower and I was amazed at the healing that took place in just 1 day!!!! I showed my husband and he said it’s like the ointment they used in the hunger games movie! Thank you for making this wonderful salve, I can’t wait to see how in looks in the morning.” AG

Grand Opening Today!!

We’re so excited! We did a few test runs over the weekend, had a rocky start with all the funky kinks, but we’re good now and ready to go! We have fantastic herbal lotions, bar soap, lip balm, and salve, just waiting for your perusal.

So… um, why are you still here?  Go! Check out our shop!

And, while you’re at it, use this code to get an additional 10% off your entire order until October 31, 2014- 8EBRYAQORB1I

Happy Shopping!

EPH_ FINAL LOGOS-01-2-1 www.edenspureherbals.com

Final Product Highlight: Soap!

We’re in the final stretch and here’s our last product highlighting blog post.  Because it tends to be the most attractive product, we’ve saved it for last.  Bar soap!  We can all thank my husband Jermaine for this addition to our product line.  I (Patrice) started out making liquid soap because that’s what I used.  I loved my shower gels but when I read the ingredients list, that was the end of that.  I bought a book on hot process soap making and began making liquid soap.

Everyone was excitedly using it, well, everyone except my husband. He always seems to be the last one to come around…  Anyway, he started asking when I would make bar soap because bar soap is his thing.  I hadn’t planned on taking that on until I came across something that said the soap I was making was more difficult than making bar soap.  I figured, if making liquid soap isn’t an issue and there’s easier, why not try bar soap?

Thus, another obsession was born!  Here’s the thing, liquid soap is cool, there’s lot’s you can do with it and I have kind of, but bars? Oh my word!!  First, they’re so pretty!! The possibilities are literally endless with the colors and scents and that’s a huge plus for a girl like me who quickly gets bored with routine.  It ended up that we all switched over to bar soap.  We love it!! I try to keep a bit of the liquid on hand for cleaning and my chiropractor favors it. So, here’s what we have in stock at the moment…

.20141023_212111

From the top left to right, we have our Chocolate/Pumpkin/Apple cider bar, Eucalyptus/Frankincense, Pumpkin, Pumpkin/Apple Cider. The circular bar is our Spanish Castile bar, then beneath that is my new favorite- Shea butter/Tea Tree.  The bar just above with red-ish hues has a masculine scent, Cedar/Cypress/Juniper, then there’s Coffee Mint (might be a nice exfoliating bar), Chocolate/Mint (with menthol for a nice tingling feeling) and lastly, we have a favorite- Lavender/Patchouli.

So, tell us, what bar you would like to try?  Also, we would like to know what bars you might like to see us carry.  We’re always changing the types of bars we make.  Sometimes it’s based on the season, other times, our preferences.  Keep in mind though, we don’t use chemicals so there won’t be any lime green candy apple or hot pink bars of cotton candy scented soap.  Although hot pink would be right up my alley.

We only use ingredients we would put on our own skin and we use essential oils and herbs for scent and color.

Well that’s it for our product highlighting series!  Thank you for sticking it out with us! We’re very excited about our upcoming launch on October 28, 2014.  We hope you are too!
